It's important to be prepared! Make sure to check the forecast for Saturday. The event is only for two hours however we all need to stay energized and hydrated!
Here are a few suggestions for your packing list:
- Sunscreen
- Water
- Weather-appropriate clothing
- Small snack (nut-free)
IMPORTANT NOTE FOR EVENT!
Question: Can I wear an orange shirt to honour bruce?
We suggest not wearing an orange shirt. Even though orange was Bruce’s favourite colour, it is also the colour for Orange Shirt Day, of the Every Child Matters Movement. In order to honour the victims of Canada’s genocide against the Indigenous People of this land, and in the spirit of Truth and Reconciliation, we ask that you please refrain.
Alternative: If you would like to bring something with you to honour Bruce and other Disabled lives that have been lost, you can bring the following:
- Stuffed toys
- Paper/plastic orange flowers
(we ask that you don't bring real flowers due to human allergies and service pets that live flowers may be toxic to)
- Purple and/or teal ribbons
(the colour of the Suicide Prevention Ribbon)
